The heartbeat of Shady Hill is connecting our community with food and farmers. We have big goals to bring canning classes, floral DIYs, and homestead how-tos in 2025. We are so HONORED to partner with amazing small businesses and town events to bring you fun and uniquely curated experiences. I was an agriculture teacher in my past life, so bringing what I loved from that job into my role as farm(her) is a dream! Below is our current workshop schedule:
November 30th- DIY Fresh Holiday Wreath at Downtown Flower Co.
Join us for a fun-filled event at Downtown Flower Co. in Strasburg, VA! Unleash your creativity and make your very own holiday wreath. Get into the festive spirit and learn how to craft a beautiful wreath using fresh, fragrant materials. We will guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks to help you create a unique masterpiece. Whether you're a seasoned wreath maker or trying it for the first time, this event is perfect for all skill levels. December 7th- DIY Fresh Holiday Wreath at Sweet Magnolia Farm, Harrionsburg VA 4-6 PM
Get into the festive spirit and learn how to craft a 14" wreath using fresh, fragrant greenery from the Shenandoah Valley. Come prepared to meet Highland cows, Poppy and Juniper, for sweet pets and cow selfies. $60 tickets include all supplies, local apple cider and organic coffee, cattle cuteness and therapy. December 21st- Kids Ornament Keepsake at Downtown Flower Co $10/kid
Getting cabin fever with the fam over the holidays? Bring yourself or the kids who are looking for screen-free fun! Let's make local dried flower ornaments to hang on the tree or display as your new favorite keepsake. We are partnering with Downtown Flower Co. in Strasburg to host this experience!
This event is friendly for all ages but is geared towards children. We will be using hot glue and other adhesives to attach flowers to a small grapevine base, so adult supervision is required and strongly advised. Young children may need more assistance, but there’s no limit to the colors and flowers you can use to decorate your ornament!
