Breaded Chicken Nuggets

First off, get you a Shady Hill whole chicken for this. If you already have… 👋 hey! The quality of the meat matters! I love making nuggets that are great for our one-year-old, yet more “sophisticated” than a Tyson© dino nug. 😋 This will feed 3 people.

Preparing the meat:

If your chicken is frozen, then it will need 2-3 days to thaw. The time depends on the weight and your fridge. Avoid using the microwave to thaw meat.

  1. Get your chicken out of the package. Here is a quick video on how we do this and avoid the liquid purge from leaking on the counter.

  2. Watch this video on how to cut up a whole chicken to see how we cut our chicken breasts.

Ingredients

  1. Chicken Breasts *skin removed- if you already used the breast from the whole chicken, use the tenders or thighs. If you want a lot of nuggets, use the breasts, thighs, and tenders.

  2. Panko Bread Crumbs

  3. Salt

  4. Pepper

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F

  2. Add Panko, salt, and pepper into a bag or container with a lid

  3. Cut chicken breasts into 1” pieces

  4. Add chicken to the panko mixture and toss until coated

  5. Put chicken on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes in the oven or until the internal temp reaches 165 degrees

Notes:

  • You can use breasts, thighs, or tenders for this recipe

  • We will often make these in the air fryer instead of the oven. Still, preheat this to 400 degrees F and air fry for 20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F
